ASSEHS Workshop 27th & 28th November 2014, Amsterdam.

March 24, 2015

The first ASSEHS Workshop, organized by Philips Research, was held in Amsterdam on 27th and 28th November 2014. The aim of the workshop was twofold: on the one hand, to update the consortium's partners on the WPs' (work packages) results and achievements of the first year of the project; on the other hand, to thoroughly discuss the results gathered so far and steer the plan of future activities. In particular, the latter was facilitated and enhanced by the heterogeneity and level of expertise of the workshop's attendees. Five representatives of the SAB (stakeholder advisory board) attended the workshop as well as the representatives of regions involved in ASSEHS together with the WPs' members.

The agenda of the workshop was divided in two main sections. The first one consisted of a general overview of the objectives and description of the ASSEHS project to the SAB members followed by an update of the results achieved by each core WP. Additionally, the SAB members could introduce themselves and share their expectations of the workshop. While during the second part of the meeting each core WP organized a working session with exercises and interactive sessions yielding lively and meaningful discussions. In particular, WP4 led the discussion on the use of the Appraisal Standard and its prospective specifications, WP5 triggered a debate on the feasibility of introducing risk stratification tools in a health care system, WP6 described the Performance Management Framework targeting the impact of implementing risk stratification tools on health care systems and WP7 introduced their Intervention Assessment Framework. Finally, WP2 recalled the main objectives of ASSEHS and discussed which methodologies the WPs should apply to gather the necessary knowledge from the scientific literature.

Besides the contribution and involvement of the SAB's members during each discussion, they had also the possibility to provide their final feedback and comments to the entire consortium at the end of the workshop summarizing their thoughts on the ASSEHS project and recommendations on how to successfully finalize the significant effort provided so far.
